Andori Book Cover Commission

So I've started doing freelance work for my colleagues at university. This commission was by an author looking for something mysterious, evocative and rife with narrative possibilities. The author was specific about what he wanted (Owl in a mysty dreamscape with a clock). I decided the composition, colours and hourglass with rose for the passage of time.
It started as a 2D traditional sketch, then copic markered it for detail and finalized it on photoshop with a background and all.
